AL MASJID AL AQSA

“Glorified be He [Allah] Who did take His servant for a journey by night from Masjid Al Haram to Masjid Al Aqsa, whose precincts We did bless, in order that We might show him some of Our Signs. Verily He is the All Hearing, All Seeing” [Surah Al Isra 17:1]

An aerial view showing Al Masjid Al Aqsa (also called the Noble Sanctuary of Al Aqsa). The entire area within the walls of the sanctuary is considered by scholars to be Al Masjid Al Aqsa; although sometimes to differentiate the two iconic domed buildings present in the sanctuary, the gold domed building is called Masjid Al Sakhrah (Dome Of The Rock) and the silver domed building is called Al Masjid Al Aqsa. However this can be slightly misleading as the entire platform on which both buildings are standing is actually Al Masjid Al Aqsa.
